The beginning
Rsvp is the opening statement of the M2 message collection, a Parfum Büro project built around a simple conceit: that fragrance can communicate what words and emojis cannot. Perfumer Maurizio Cerizza composed this one as the collection's first letter, a declaration dressed in red carpet glamour and the electric charge of being watched. The M2 collection treats scent as semantic content, an emissary sent ahead of you to signal arrival, desire, or warning. Rsvp is the house's opening gesture, the scent that says 'I'm here, and you should know it.' It channels the bright, confident energy of a presence that arrives before announcement, sharp and deliberate, the olfactory equivalent of a flashbulb catching your silhouette before anyone processes your name.
What makes Rsvp structurally interesting is the way it balances bright, almost photographic sharpness against a deeply resinous foundation. Angelica root, cypress, ginger, and saffron in the opening read like studio lights, crisp and intentional. Then the heart softens just enough: cardamom, juniper, jasmine sambac, adding warmth without losing the architectural tension. The base is where Cerizza stakes his claim: oud, guaiac wood, patchouli, amber, cashmere wood. The oud sits up front, dry and confident, anchored by guaiac's smoky depth and patchouli's earthy gravity.
The evolution
The opening is pure entrance. Cypress and angelica snap the air clean, then saffron arrives with that distinctive bittersweet heat, almost leathery, like sun on a leather bag left in a warm car. Ginger lifts the whole thing, adding a clean burn that keeps the opening from going dark too fast. It's bright. It's almost mineral. Then the hand-off happens. Cardamom slides in underneath, juniper berries add a gin-and-peel bite, and jasmine sambac does something subtle, softening the spice without sweetening it. The fragrance pivots from flashbulb to foyer, trading initial impact for layered warmth. As the composition settles deeper, the base takes its seat. Oud arrives, but it's a drier, smokier expression, pulled toward guaiac wood's tarry depth and patchouli's dry cocoa warmth. Cashmere wood wraps the edges, giving the drydown a soft, almost suede-like finish.
