Lovey-Dovey

What's interesting is what Cerizza leaves out. There's no oud, no heavy amber, no leather grounding the base. Lovey-Dovey runs on rose, jasmine, and white musk, supported by a green wormwood note that most modern florals skip entirely. That wormwood, the same plant that gives absinthe its bitter edge, does the heavy lifting here. Without it, this would read like another fruity-rose floral in a crowded category. With it, the composition has a slightly herbal, almost medicinal coolness in the heart that keeps the sweetness from collapsing into something obvious. It's a quieter structural choice, but it's the one that separates Lovey-Dovey from the dozens of blackcurrant-rose launches crowding the niche shelves.

The evolution

The first ten minutes belong to the fruit. Blackcurrant opens with that sharp, almost-candy sweetness, immediately cut by grapefruit pith and the green snap of strawberry leaf. Pink pepper flickers underneath, a quick heat that asks a question without waiting for the answer. Around the 20-minute mark the fruit recedes and the rose arrives, but not alone. Wormwood brings a cool, herbal bitterness that reshapes the rose entirely: less romantic bouquet, more wild hedgerow. Jasmine threads through without dominating, adding a creamy undertone that softens the edges. By hour two the base has settled: cedarwood, clean and dry, under a blanket of white musk that reads more like clean laundry than animal skin. The white musk has a particular quality here, almost soapy in its freshness at first, then warming into something that sits closer to skin warmth as the hours pass.
