Why it exists.
The beginning
Skara takes its name from one of Sweden's oldest towns, a historic meeting point of paths, cultures and stories. Pana Dora's perfumer Ibrahim Al-Zoubi built the 2026 composition around that idea of transition: a scent shaped by the movement between horizons, between the final warmth of summer and the first cool edge of autumn. The brief feels like a postcard from a crossroads, and what results is not a heritage piece or a statement scent. It's a place rendered in wearable form, quiet enough to wear daily, bright enough to earn notice. The opening plays out like a slow exhale: dragon fruit arrives first, carrying a translucent sweetness that feels almost water-weighted, more cool than cloying. Bergamot slicks the edges with a bitter peel that keeps the fruit from floating away into syrup.
The choice of dragon fruit is what sets Skara apart from a standard fruity-floral. Pitahaya brings a translucent, almost watery sweetness that reads differently from the usual berry-or-citrus playbook, lending the opening a tropical lift. The blackcurrant and peach in the heart deepen that fruit signature without tipping into jam, while peony adds the powdery-green lift that keeps the whole composition from collapsing into sugar. Lily of the valley drifts in alongside, softening the sweetness into something more petal-thick and spring-leaning, almost like morning dew caught on linen.
The evolution
On skin, Skara opens with a clear, almost watery brightness. Dragon fruit and bergamot cut through first, then the lily of the valley arrives within minutes, softening the fruit into something gardenlike rather than tropical. The first 30 minutes read as a bright, slightly green floral with fruit pulsing underneath. As the heart settles, around the 45-minute to two-hour mark, the blackcurrant and peach deepen, and the peony's powdery quality starts threading through. This is the phase that feels most unexpected, almost like a different scent has briefly stepped in. The green notes keep everything lifted, airy rather than dense. By the third hour, the fruit has receded and the base takes over. White musk and solar notes create that clean, warm-skin effect, and the vanilla adds a soft sweetness without becoming gourmand. The patchouli grounds the whole thing, keeping it from floating away.
