The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Blom Bukett means 'flower bouquet' in Swedish, and that's the simplest explanation, which suits it perfectly. The fragrance arrived in 2019, created by perfumer Ibrahim Al-Zoubi. Rather than reaching for the dramatic, Al-Zoubi built Blom Bukett around something quieter: the idea of flowers as everyday tenderness. A gift passed hand to hand. Something worn close, not performed. The reference was specific to Swedish floral traditions, particularly the rose, and the result is a composition that feels rooted in place without becoming period piece. It's a fragrance about heritage without nostalgia's weight.
What makes Blom Bukett work is its tension between cool and warm. The lily of the valley and orange blossom could easily tip into soapiness, and on some skins, they do, but the seaweed and citrus in the heart introduce a mineral, slightly marine quality that keeps things grounded. The base notes, white musk, iris, vetiver, form a powdery accord that reads as clean without being clinical. There's a green, slightly rooty vetiver underneath that gives the composition somewhere honest to land. For a fragrance built on powder and white floral, that honesty matters.
The evolution
Blom Bukett opens bright. The Calabrian bergamot arrives first, sharp, clean, cold, followed almost immediately by lily of the valley's green, slightly bitter petals. There's a waxy quality to the orange blossom that adds weight. The heart unfolds: jasmine emerges alongside a marine note that reads less like ocean and more like wet stone. The citrus in the heart keeps things bright but not sharp. White musk and iris arrive to transform the fragrance into something talcum-soft. The drydown is powder, clean skin, and the faintest trace of vetiver root.
Cultural impact
Blom Bukett occupies an interesting space in the niche fragrance world: a powdery floral that values depth over drama. It's been described by some wearers as a "grandma" scent, an observation that, rather than being dismissive, points to something true about its character. This is a fragrance with presence, built for someone who values subtlety and staying power. The white floral and powdery drydown recall an era when perfume was worn close, not announced. That quietness can read as either timeless or nostalgic, depending on the wearer.
