The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Pana Dora was founded in 2019 in Emmaboda, Sweden, by perfumer Ibrahim Al-Zoubi, who built the house on a cross-cultural foundation shaped by decades of travel between Scandinavia and the Middle East. Forever Love began as an inquiry into scent as language: what does a fragrance say when it strips away performance and speaks plainly? The answer arrived in citrus brightness meeting warm woods, restraint meeting abundance, the opening meeting what stays after. Al-Zoubi composed the fragrance to traverse those spaces, layering ingredients that each carry cultural weight: the citrus fruits of Mediterranean markets, the florals of European gardens, the resins and woods of Arabian traditions. The result is a scent that moves between worlds without belonging exclusively to any of them, and in that movement, finds honesty.
The notes in Forever Love are not arbitrary. Grapefruit and mandarin orange speak to the citrus tradition found across Mediterranean perfumery, while orange blossom references the neroli and petit grain oils that have long been used in both European and Middle Eastern compositions. The heart pairs ginger with melon and mango to create a sweetness that feels natural rather than synthetic, and the florals from geranium to iris provide a bridge between fresh and warm. The base anchors the fragrance in sandalwood and tonka bean, ingredients known for their longevity and their ability to create intimate sillage.
The evolution
The opening is where the fragrance announces itself. Grapefruit arrives first, tart and direct, followed quickly by mandarin orange and bergamot, with lemon adding a bright edge and orange blossom softening the citrus with gentle sweetness. This citrus chorus lasts for roughly fifteen minutes before the heart begins to emerge. Ginger appears as a quiet warmth, not spice for its own sake but a bridge between the bright opening and the deeper base. Melon and mango contribute juicy sweetness that feels almost sun-warmed, while geranium and lily of the valley bring green, dewy florality that grounds the tropical notes. Iris and lavender add complexity, and artemisia introduces an herbaceous quality that prevents the heart from becoming too sweet. The drydown takes its time. Sandalwood emerges gradually, followed by tonka bean and amber, creating a warm, creamy finish that persists for hours. Vetiver adds an earthy counterpoint, keeping the sweetness from becoming cloying and giving the base a grounded quality that feels intimate rather than performative.
Cultural impact
Forever Love is one of the most-worn Pana Dora releases since the house's 2023 launch. Community ratings reflect consistent satisfaction across longevity, sillage, and bottle design. The citrus-to-tropical-to-warm-base arc makes it a rare summer fragrance that actually lasts, something wearers return to season after season. Its moderate sillage and versatile character position it as an everyday fragrance that doesn't require occasion to justify wearing.
