The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Dolce Cherry arrived in 2022 as part of Mykonos's collaboration with the Indonesian beauty and perfume influencer Revania Shabika Amany Kitzing, known online as Sapeyeeee. The brief was to take cherry seriously, treating the note as something with weight and depth rather than a passing confection. The fragrance threads that aim cleanly, with a maraschino and black cherry pairing that anchors the top, supported by a warm-spicy architecture of clove, pink pepper, and cinnamon leaf. Vanilla shows up early, threading through the top and into the heart, where plum and dried apricot add a dense, jammy undertone. The composition reads more like a stirred digestif than a dessert, built on a base of sandalwood, cedar, tonka bean, amberwood, and vetiver.
What makes Dolce Cherry worth attention is the doubling. Vanilla appears in both the top and the heart, which gives the composition a gravitational pull from the first spray to the last breath. This one backs the cherry with clove, pink pepper, and cinnamon leaf, building a warm-spicy architecture that gives the maraschino and black cherry something to push against. The result reads more like a stirred digestif than a dessert. The plum and dried apricot in the heart add a dense, jammy undertone that keeps the fruit from ever drifting into novelty-candy territory.
The evolution
The first fifteen minutes are a conversation between maraschino cherry and clove, with pink pepper snapping at the edges and bergamot barely keeping things civil. Vanilla is already present at the top, which sets expectations. By the thirty-minute mark, black cherry and plum take the lead. The spice softens but doesn't disappear, cinnamon leaf settling into the fruit like a thread stitching them together. Dried apricot adds a quiet warmth that keeps the heart from becoming purely gourmand. Two hours in, the composition shifts register. The fruit fades to a memory, and the base takes over: sandalwood and cedar form a woody floor, tonka bean wraps around the vanilla that's been present since the opening, and amberwood gives the whole thing its glow. Vetiver shows up late, adding a dry, earthy edge that keeps the sweetness honest.
Cultural impact
Within Mykonos's catalogue, Dolce Cherry occupies a specific lane: it's the scent for people who want cherry to mean something more than candy. The collaboration with Sapeyeeee, an Indonesian perfume creator with a dedicated following, gave the release a built-in community of wearers who follow her recommendations. The fragrance treats the cherry note with a seriousness that lifts it out of the candy register, pairing the fruit with clove, pink pepper, and cinnamon leaf for warmth, and backing it with plum and dried apricot in the heart for depth.
