The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Sofia Bardelli created L'amour Éternel for the Édition Haussmann collection. The name says everything, eternal love, the kind that doesn't fade. Drawing from Maïssa's French heritage and the brand's cultural foundations, Bardelli wanted to capture that warmth and permanence in a bottle. The result is a fragrance that opens bright and never quite lets go.
The opening hits immediately, a tropical avalanche of mango, apricot, and nectarine. It's almost sticky-sweet, with pink pepper adding a bright counterpoint. Within minutes, gardenia and magnolia arrive to soften the blow, wrapping the fruit in something creamier and more intimate. Jasmine sambac deepens the heart. Violet adds a powdery quality that tames the sweetness. By the middle stage, the florals take over, gardenia leading, magnolia and jasmine sambac weaving together.
The evolution
The drydown is where L'amour Éternel earns its name. The florals begin to recede as vanilla arrives, prominent now, holding its ground alongside honey and caramel. Cedarwood, white musk, and a thread of ambroxan keep it grounded. The ambroxan is the tell. That's the clean, marine quality that sneaks in to keep the sweetness from becoming too much, despite the honey. The honey doesn't disappear. It deepens. Settles into the composition like a warm secret. The real test of this fragrance is what happens on skin the next day. Vanilla, caramel, and honey don't fade so much as transform. They settle into something quieter but equally present. The longevity data suggests 8-10 hours, and that tracks. What surprises is the ambroxan thread that keeps threading back through, a clean quality that appears in the final hours and shouldn't work with this much sweetness but does. There's a residue on fabric. A warmth that stays.
Cultural impact
The brand positions itself as a conversation between East and West, with collectors who wear depth without announcement. The 2023 launch placed L'amour Éternel in a crowded market of fruity-florals, though without specific community reception data, the cultural conversation remains open.
