Elemì wears its ingredient on its sleeve. Elemi resin is the name and the anchor, a tropical gum that carries a peppery, green character. Helan built this composition around that material, letting grapefruit blossom open the door and a stack of green woods carry the body through to a soft, musky close. Release details are sparse, but the intent reads clearly in the structure itself. The opening comes across as bright and resinous, with the elemi note sitting forward rather than hiding in the base. Grapefruit blossom gives the first impression a green-floral lift, and as the minutes pass, that citrus gives way to a denser aromatic core built around elemi, mint, sage, and a stack of woods.
What makes Elemì work is the layering inside the heart. Calabrian bergamot brings its characteristic bitter brightness in the opening, and grapefruit blossom and leaf introduce a green-peel quality to the top notes. Then elemi enters alongside mint, clary sage, geranium, violet leaf, cedar, and sandalwood, filling out the middle of the fragrance with a denser aromatic profile. Violet leaf carries a cucumber-cool, slightly bitter green quality, and it threads through the citrus without flattening it.
The evolution
The first thirty minutes belong to the grapefruit blossom and Calabrian bergamot, loud and clean, with the citrus notes reading bright and green against the cooler aromatic materials. Then elemi and mint push forward, the elemi resin arriving as a warm, peppery hum that softens the citrus rather than burying it. As the hours pass, cedar, sandalwood, and vetiver take over, grounding the composition into something woody and slightly dry. Violet leaf lingers in the background, adding that cucumber-cool thread that keeps the whole thing from going heavy. The drydown settles into amber, woody notes, and white musk, a clean skin-close warmth that holds for several more hours. The grapefruit doesn't vanish. It just moves underneath, and you catch it on warm pulses rather than the first spray.

Elemì sits in the green-citrus aromatic category alongside references like Bois d'Hadrien by Goutal, wearing lighter and sharper with its grapefruit-led opening. The fragrance draws on a tradition of green aromatic compositions that pair bright citrus with resinous and woody bases, a structure that has appeared across multiple houses over the years. Within that category, Elemì leans further into the resinous dimension through its prominent use of elemi, giving it a slightly warmer and more balsamic character than purely green-citrus references.
