What makes You Nova Dream work is not ambition but restraint. The note structure is a classic fruity-floral pyramid, but the execution keeps it from feeling like a department store sampler. Red apple and apricot lead, blackcurrant adds tartness, jasmine and rose provide warmth without heaviness, and then the base introduces something unexpected: sandalwood alongside turmeric. Turmeric is not a standard perfumery material. In the drydown, it creates an earthy, slightly resinous warmth that prevents the whole thing from becoming just another sweet floral.
