The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Faberlic built its name on beauty within reach, formulas tested in-house, accessible pricing, a network of consultants who brought the products to people rather than waiting for customers to find them. Candy Story arrives in 2024 as part of that same philosophy: a fragrance that doesn't whisper from behind glass, but reaches out. The name says everything. This is scent as indulgence, uncomplicated and unapologetic. The brief was simple, make something that smells like the best part of the candy shop.
The pyramid leans into gourmand territory without apology. Bonbon and maraschino cherry open the composition, a double cherry layer that reads more like confectionery than fruit. White peach adds a brief brightness before the heart takes over. Marzipan is the structural surprise here: nuttiness that keeps the sweetness from flattening entirely. Tonka bean bridges the gap between almond and vanilla, while rose, often a solo act, plays supporting duty, softening the edges where needed. Cherry syrup anchors the base, extending the opening note's identity into the drydown rather than replacing it with something unrecognizable.
The evolution
The first thirty minutes are all cherry, bonbon, and white peach, bright, sticky, almost edible. Then the marzipan emerges, quietly nudging the sweetness toward something more complex. The rose follows, not as a dominant floral statement but as a smoothing agent, its presence unfolding gently to refine the composition the way a good editor cleans up a rough draft. By hour two, the tonka bean has taken residence, pushing the composition toward warm vanilla without ever fully arriving. Cherry syrup holds on through the end, refusing to disappear. The drydown, musk, vanilla sugar, and that lingering cherry, stays close to the skin for several hours after the main event fades. On fabric, it lasts until the next wash.
Cultural impact
Candy Story introduces cherry, bonbon, and marzipan into a widely accessible format. The fragrance captures a cultural comfort with sweetness as a form of self-expression rather than sophistication. Its vivid cherry syrup character and playful name speak to an audience seeking fragrance as a personal statement. The blend of playful complexity and approachable design positions this scent as a memorable addition to any collection, inviting those who encounter it to explore its layered composition and the emotions it evokes.
