The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Khizan is a fragrance Colish debuted in 2021, marking an early step for a house whose catalog has since drawn attention from collectors tracking newer regional releases. The composition is credited to perfumer Arturetto Landi, and the official copy frames it as a portrait of an exquisite garden, something royal and magnificent at once. Where oud-forward and smoke-driven compositions have come to dominate certain corners of regional perfumery, Khizan heads the other direction. The opening leads with orchard fruit and white petals rather than resin or bark, and the whole composition reads as a study in restraint. There's nothing ornamental about it.
The top of Khizan reads as a contemporary fruity-floral opening: apple, plum, and lime with a pinch of pink pepper, bright and immediate without ever crossing into syrupy. But what happens in the heart cuts somewhere less expected. Lily of the valley and orchid sit together at the center, a pairing that lends the composition a weight and a creaminess you don't usually find in lighter seasonal fruity florals. Jasmine threads through underneath, adding a soft warmth that keeps the white florals from feeling cold or detached.
The evolution
Khizan opens the way a good autumn morning smells through a cracked window. The fruit comes first, apple and plum with a tart lime zest over the top, cool, slightly sharp, still holding the shape of the peel rather than the flesh. The pink pepper doesn't announce itself, but it makes the cold fruit feel awake. Then the florals arrive, and the composition shifts register. Lily of the valley and orchid carry most of the middle, with jasmine adding a soft warmth underneath. The white-floral register here is creamy rather than soapy, and the fruit doesn't disappear, it just steps back, becoming a base note within the heart rather than the lead. The cool clarity of the opening is preserved even as the warmth builds, and the florals hold their shape without going candied or indolic. The drydown is where Khizan settles into what it actually is.
Cultural impact
Khizan sits at the front of Colish's catalog as one of the brand's earliest releases, and it represents the kind of softer, more floral-fruity direction the house offers alongside its heavier, oud-leaning and resin-driven work. Wearers reaching for it tend to want something lighter on the skin, a composition that reads as intimate rather than projected, suited for close company rather than open rooms. In practice, Khizan rewards the wearer who pays attention to it, because its development happens close to the skin and unfolds gradually over the course of a wear.
