Cafe Men 2 arrived in 2002, and for a house whose name has long suggested coffee on the skin, it's an unexpected departure. No coffee absolute in the pyramid. No espresso darkness driving the base. Instead, lime, jasmine, orange blossom, amber, and patchouli do all the talking. Whether it was meant as a companion piece to the coffee-heavy originals or as proof the house could build something muscular without leaning on its signature ingredient, the result is a men's white floral with teeth. The lime cuts in cold and bright at the collar, almost clinical in its clarity, before the jasmine blooms behind it with a creamy, almost indolic sweetness. Orange blossom layers in alongside the jasmine, softening both, rounding the composition into something that breathes rather than shouts.
