The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Apple Crumble was composed by Adam Bujairami and released in 2025. The scent translates a familiar comfort into a wearable composition, taking the warmth of a baked dessert and rendering it through bergamot, milk, caramel, and peach before settling into iris, orchid, and patchouli at the heart. Sandalwood, tonka bean, vanilla, and musk carry the drydown. It sits firmly within the gourmand category but pulls from the powdery, musky traditions that Adam's house has built its identity on. The fragrance reads as a deliberate exercise in restraint, where each note is given room to breathe rather than crowding the blend. The bergamot opens with a soft, sun-warmed citrus lift that quickly melts into the milk and caramel, creating a creaminess that feels closer to warm dairy than to candy sugar.
What makes the composition interesting is the way it balances the sticky sweetness of caramel and milk with the more refined, cooler materials of iris and orchid. The gourmand accord is the obvious hook, but the iris gives it a powdery restraint that prevents the scent from tipping into straight confectionery. Patchouli adds a quiet earthiness underneath, which keeps the whole thing from floating away. The base then locks everything into place with tonka bean and sandalwood, two materials known for their soft, skin-like warmth that extends wear without adding volume.
The evolution
The opening arrives soft and rounded. Bergamot adds a brief citrus brightness over the milk and caramel, which read less like a sugary dessert and more like warm cream poured slowly. Peach sits underneath, giving the top a fruit-skin fuzz rather than sharp juice. The first minutes are all about texture, the way the citrus lifts the cream and the fruit rounds it out, creating something that feels edible without ever smelling like a literal recipe. Within the first 20 minutes, the caramel and milk settle into the background and iris takes the lead. The heart introduces a powdery, almost lipstick-like quality that shifts the mood from dessert to something more intimate. Orchid and patchouli deepen it, adding a touch of cool soil beneath the floral sweetness, and the composition takes on a suede-like softness that lingers through the mid-phase.
Cultural impact
Apple Crumble earns its place through the quiet work of its iris and patchouli, which give the composition a powdery, almost vintage character that sets it apart from sweeter, more one-dimensional gourmands. The floral heart introduces a lipstick-like softness that grounds the dessert sweetness, adding a touch of cool sophistication to what could otherwise read as a simple sugar confection. There's a restraint here that feels deliberate, as if the composition is more interested in atmosphere than impact. The result is a scent that wears close to the skin, offering warmth and familiarity without demanding attention.
