The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Nectar of Love is April Aromatics' meditation on botanical sensuality. The name says it all, warmth, richness, the fullness of floral nectar translated into a natural perfume. Tanja Bochnig built this around the most precious absolutes: French tuberose, Indian jasmine, Turkish rose, and Thai ylang-ylang. Bergamot and Tunisian neroli open the composition with clean transparency before the florals take over. A warm sandalwood and bourbon vanilla base grounds everything in something intimate, not explosive. The result is a fragrance that smells expensive, built from high-quality natural materials without shortcuts.
What makes Nectar of Love different is the botanical purity itself. Without synthetics doing the heavy lifting, the florals develop an almost caramelized quality that you don't get in conventional perfumes. It's less perfume, more extract. The richness is real, the sweetness doesn't feel manufactured or pasted on top. It's the kind of fragrance that makes you understand why naturals cost more.
The evolution
Bergamot and neroli arrive bright, transparent, sparkling. Like morning light through a window. This phase is brief but arresting, the citrus creates an immediate sense of clarity and energy. Then the florals take over. Jasmine, tuberose, rose, and ylang-ylang arrive together in a wave that's almost overwhelming at first. Creamy, sweet, intensely floral. The fruity notes add a tropical quality, like biting into ripe fruit. This intensity gradually settles into something more manageable but no less present. As the top notes fade, sandalwood and vanilla anchor everything. The drydown is warm, powdery, intimate. It stays here for hours, close to the skin, not announcing itself, just quietly present. The sillage never becomes room-filling. It's a fragrance for someone standing next to you, not across it.
Cultural impact
April Aromatics presents a different approach to perfumery, one rooted in botanical aromatics and natural ingredients. The brand's focus on purity, sustainability, and transparency sets it apart from conventional commercial fragrances. Nectar of Love represents the house's exploration of botanical sensuality, showcasing rich florals crafted from natural materials without synthetic shortcuts.
