Why it exists.
The beginning
Vanilla has always filled a void for Tanja Bochnig. On difficult days, a sniff of it lifted her spirits. That personal relationship with the note became the seed for Vanilicious. Rather than reaching for a pre-made vanilla accord, Bochnig built a concentrated botanical interpretation using several vanilla extracts from different origins alongside her own in-house vanilla accord. The result is a fragrance that captures the true depth of the vanilla pod, the resinous, almost sticky richness of real beans rather than the sanitized versions found in mainstream perfumery. Each extract contributes its own character, creating layers of sweetness that feel natural and complex rather than flat and predictable.
What sets Vanilicious apart from the crowded vanilla market is its refusal to be just sweet. The addition of blond tobacco and precious woods introduces dry, hay-like facets that cut through the creaminess. Peru balsam adds a balsamic resinous quality that deepens the composition beyond simple gourmand territory. The result is a vanilla that smells like the actual vanilla bean, sticky, dark, boozy, rather than a synthetic approximation.
