The evolution

The opening hits hard, clove's phenolic heat and saffron's honeyed spice arriving simultaneously, artemisia adding a green, almost astringent counterpoint while orange cuts through with brief brightness. This phase is loud, traditional, somewhat demanding. If you stopped someone on the street, this is what they'd smell. Twenty minutes in, the character shifts. Ylang-ylang emerges with its creamy, almost tropical sweetness, pushing against the spice like someone changing the subject mid-sentence.
