    Enzo Galardi

Enzo Galiali grew up in a modest workshop in Florence, watching his grandfather Guido blend essential oils for friends and family. The scent‑filled evenings sparked a curiosity that turned into a lifelong vocation. After completing a formal apprenticeship at a historic Italian perfume house, he earned his first commission in 1994, crafting the eponymous Parfum Homme ENZO for a niche label. The fragrance earned praise for its crisp citrus opening and warm amber heart, marking Enzo’s entry into the competitive world of artisanal perfumery. Over the next decade he refined his technique, collaborating with regional producers and experimenting with native Tuscan botanicals. A 2017 interview at Esxence revealed his enthusiasm for preserving local ingredients while pushing the boundaries of modern composition. Today he balances private commissions with limited‑edition releases, guiding a small team that shares his reverence for scent as a vessel for memory.

    The signature

    How Enzo composes

Enzo favors natural extracts harvested from the Italian countryside, especially Tuscan lavender, Sicilian lemon zest, and Calabrian bergamot. He layers these bright top notes with heart accords of rose de Mai and rosemary, then grounds the blend with a base of aged oakwood, amber, and a hint of smoked vetiver. His technique often involves slow maceration, allowing the ingredients to meld over several months. He avoids synthetic shortcuts, preferring to let the raw materials speak for themselves. The result is a clear, balanced scent that feels both familiar and freshly imagined.

    Philosophy

    What drives Enzo

Enzo treats each bottle as a narrative, aiming to capture a fleeting feeling before it fades. He believes that fragrance should speak directly to the wearer’s senses, bypassing intellectual analysis in favor of pure emotion. His work draws from family stories, Mediterranean landscapes, and the tactile texture of raw materials. By pairing unexpected accords, he seeks to provoke a quiet reflection that lingers long after the scent settles. For Enzo, the creative spark ignites when a single note recalls a personal moment, and the rest of the composition follows that instinct.
