The beginning
Água Fresca Citrus arrived in 2020 from Água de Cheiro, a house that has built its identity around translating Brazilian sensibility into scent. The brief was simple: capture the feeling of being fragrant at any time of the day, in a form that doesn't demand ceremony or weight. Perfumers Leonardo Lucheze and Cláudio de Deus built it as a cologne, the lightest concentration in the lineup, stripped back to essentials. Three notes carry the entire composition, and nothing extra was invited in. Sicilian lemon opens the door. Basil leaf does the middle work. Oakmoss grounds the floor. Nothing ornamental, nothing borrowed from heavier traditions. The Água Fresca line as a whole represents Brazilianness, lightness, and freshness, and Citrus sits at the cleanest end of that promise.
What makes this composition worth noticing is its restraint. Three notes, one accord family: citrus, aromatic, mossy, green.
