The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Tony Iommi Signed Crystal Limited Edition is a special edition bottle of Tony Iommi Monkey Special, released in 2021 as part of Xerjoff's Blends Rock Edition collaboration with the legendary Black Sabbath guitarist. The partnership brought Iommi's monolithic riffs into dialogue with Xerjoff's Italian opulence, creating what Sergio Momo described as a multisensorial playground where sound, taste, and image contaminate each other. Only 200 pieces exist. Each one signed. This is fragrance as a collector's object, not just a scent.
The structure here is unusual in the best way. Rum and passionfruit open bright and tropical, then hand the stage to leather and Bulgarian rose. The contrast is deliberate. Warm spice from cinnamon meets Singapore patchouli, and the base layers caramel, tonka, and vanilla into something that smells expensive without trying too hard. Ambergris and labdanum give it depth that most sweet fragrances lack. Chris Maurice built this to be worn, not just admired in a bottle.
The evolution
The opening hits fast. Rum, bergamot, and passionfruit create a tropical sweetness that lasts about 20 minutes before leather arrives. The hand-off is smooth, not jarring. The leather stays dominant through the heart, warm with cinnamon and Bulgarian rose underneath. By hour three, the caramel and vanilla have taken over, and patchouli keeps everything from going too soft. The drydown on skin lasts 6-8 hours, but on fabric it lingers into the next day. Sandalwood and labdanum make sure it settles into something you notice without broadcasting.
Cultural impact
Part of the Xerjoff Blends Rock Edition, this fragrance exists at the intersection of music legacy and luxury perfumery. The collaboration brings together two creative worlds, translating the energy of rock music into an olfactory statement. The limited run of 200 signed bottles makes each release a collector's prize, transforming scent into a tangible artifact of artistic partnership. Rich, smoky accords dominate the opening, giving way to deep leather and warm amber that linger on the skin.
