The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Forum Jeans in Blue arrived in 2013 under perfumer Edison Fujita. The fragrance opens with a citrus accord, lemon, apple, and tangerine, delivering an immediate brightness that feels fresh and unapologetic. At the heart, lilac and jasmine provide floral depth without heaviness, bringing a certain softness that balances the initial lift. Cedar appears as a structural element, lending aromatic weight beneath the florals. The base combines musk with sandalwood, creating warmth that grounds the composition. The overall effect is a fragrance that feels cohesive and deliberate, built around contrasts, bright against soft, light against grounded, that hold together without competing.
What makes the structure interesting is the hand-off. The citrus top notes, lemon, apple, and tangerine, arrive together, sharing the opening phase before the florals emerge. Lilac, jasmine, rose, and lavender establish themselves as the heart develops, bringing a layered floral quality to the composition. Cedar sits within this middle phase, adding aromatic structure without overwhelming the florals. Musk and sandalwood arrive in the base, creating a quiet foundation that lingers. The fragrance moves through these stages with a natural progression, each phase building on what came before.
The evolution
The opening hits sharp and cheerful. Lemon and tangerine arrive simultaneously, with apple lending a faint sweetness that keeps the citrus from becoming harsh. The apple fades relatively quickly while tangerine and lemon hold longer. Then the florals take over. Lilac announces itself prominently, followed by jasmine, with rose and lavender appearing together as supporting florals. This middle phase carries the composition for a significant stretch of time. Cedar becomes perceptible as the florals develop, adding weight that prevents them from floating away entirely. The drydown brings musk and sandalwood together, the musk clean and skin-like, the sandalwood warm and faintly creamy. This final phase is intimate rather than projecting, settling close to the skin. The sandalwood in particular can linger, adding a creamy trail that remains noticeable after the initial burst has faded.
Cultural impact
Forum Jeans in Blue arrived in 2013 as part of Tufi Duek's Forum collection. The Forum collection incorporates denim-inspired imagery and design sensibility, creating fragrances that fit within a broader lifestyle context. The fragrance's citrus-floral-woody profile reflects a blend of bright top notes, layered florals, and warm woody base notes. Its composition positions it as a versatile scent that can work across different occasions and preferences.
