Dã arrived in 2017 from Thera Cosméticos, a Brazilian house that has built a small but distinct catalog of original compositions. The formula came from perfumer Mário Torri Neto, who threaded a recognizable Brazilian sensibility through the scent, Brazilian rosewood anchoring the heart, coconut and tropical fruit catching the light up top, sandalwood grounding everything underneath. On paper the classification leans oriental woody, but the actual wear tells a softer story, the almond-vanilla warmth pulling more weight than any smoky or resinous element. The result feels like a deliberate balance, a composition with enough complexity to register as a crafted fragrance rather than a simple sweet scent, yet rendered in a way that keeps the door open for daily, repeated wear.
What makes Dã interesting is the tension between its tropical opening and its gourmand base. Coconut, apricot, and plum give the first spray a juicy, almost suntan-oiled warmth, which then has to negotiate with caraway's licorice snap and a white floral bouquet of tuberose, jasmine, and lily of the valley. Brazilian rosewood bridges the two halves, pulling creamy woods into the floral register before the almond-vanilla-sandalwood drydown seals everything in a soft, edible haze. The evolution
The opening is the loudest this fragrance gets. Plum and apricot burst first, juicy and almost candied, with coconut curling around the edges like a whiff of suntan lotion on warm fabric. That tropical sweetness holds through the early minutes before the white florals begin to rise, tuberose creamy and a touch indolic, jasmine adding a clean green thread, lily of the valley keeping things powdery. Brazilian rosewood settles in underneath, lending a soft, woody warmth that keeps the florals from going soapy. The caraway stays subtle, a faint anise whisper that most people won't name but will feel.
