Why it exists.
The beginning
Vanillac Strawberry Dust arrived in 2025 as part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Tribrid collection. The goal was to create something that captured beloved notes in modern perfumery. Strawberry as a centerpiece is nothing new in niche fragrance. What made this different was the ambition underneath it. Coconut flakes and coconut water were layered deliberately to avoid the sunscreen trap. The vanilla played a supporting role, anchoring the brighter top notes and adding warmth without overpowering the composition. The result felt lush and inviting, the kind of fragrance that earns compliments without trying too hard.
Bourbon vanilla appears twice in the pyramid, once in the heart, once in the base, and that repetition isn't accidental. It creates a vertical thread that keeps the composition cohesive as it evolves, preventing the heart's strawberry-raspberry brightness from scattering into the drydown. Matcha and mate provide a green counterweight to the sweetness, a slight bitterness that reads as sophistication rather than severity. The ambrox in the base does the heavy lifting that smoke notes usually claim: depth without the campfire.
The evolution
The opening hits bright and tart. Pink Lady apple and Italian lemon arrive first, citrus-sharp and immediate, softened quickly by nectarine blossom and orange blossom water. Freesia hovers at the edge, not quite floral, more like the memory of a flower. Strawberry arrives with texture, not candied, not jam, somewhere between the two. Coconut water comes in wet and cool, cutting the sweetness just enough. The raspberry sugar underneath starts to feel like a third note, not a supporting detail. As the fragrance develops, the vanilla begins to assert itself. The strawberry fades but doesn't vanish, it integrates. The drydown is where this fragrance earns its longevity. Amber, brown sugar, white musk, and that double dose of bourbon vanilla create a skin-warm base that lasts well beyond what most gourmand compositions deliver.
