The beginning
Lime Mint Splash dropped in 2026 from The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression collection, composed by perfumer Mahsam Raza. The brief was clear: take the breezy brightness of a mojito, layer it against something with weight, and let the woods do the talking. The composition leans into a familiar template with its own twist on citrus, mint, and creamy sandalwood. The opening hits with a sharp, cooling rush that captures the minty zest of a freshly muddled cocktail, brightened by lime that smells less like fruit and more like the spray of a squeezed peel across your wrist. As that crisp top settles, the mint softens from an icy blast into something rounder and more herbaceous, while the lime mellows into a sweeter, almost candied register.
What's interesting here is the tension between the synthetic backbone and the natural freshness. Cashmeran and Iso E Super do a lot of quiet work underneath, giving the cedarwood and sandalwood a soft, almost velvety texture rather than a dry, pencil-shavings profile. The white rum in the base is subtle, more of a warmth than a sweetness, and the sugar keeps it from going full gourmand. It's a composition built on contrast: sharp citrus against creamy wood, cool mint against warm amber.
The evolution
The first 20 minutes are all fizz. Lemon and lime hit first, sharp and immediate, with the eucalyptus adding that mentholated edge that makes your sinuses open. Mint rolls in underneath, cooling everything down. It's bright, almost bracing. Then the woods arrive. Cedarwood takes the lead, dry and clean, while the sandalwood and cashmeran build a creamy undercurrent that softens the citrus into something more golden. Patchouli sits low, earthy and grounding, doing its best work behind the scenes. After about two hours, the ambroxan and Iso E Super take over, giving the drydown a smooth, almost magnetic warmth. The white rum flickers in and out. What lingers past the 6-hour mark is that woody amber skeleton, slightly sweet, slightly powdery, close to the skin but still present. It's a scent that starts loud and ends up whispering.
