The Dua Brand launched in 2016 in Los Angeles with a clear mission: to reverse-engineer high-end niche fragrances using modern analytics and deliver them at accessible prices. Citrus Reign arrived in 2025 as part of the Original Blend Collection, designed specifically for fragrance lovers who need a confident citrus without a luxury price tag. The perfumer approached the brief by treating the citrus opening as a complete statement, not just a fleeting greeting, layering five distinct citrus materials to create density and presence.
The note architecture prioritizes citrus longevity through layering rather than relying on a single bright material. By pairing Lemon and Bergamot with Grapefruit and Mandarin, the perfumer ensured multiple citrus characters could unfold at different rates. The herbal-bitter heart of Basil and Bitter Orange Leaf prevents the fragrance from becoming merely sweet, while the woody-mossy drydown extends wear time by anchoring the brighter top notes.
