The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Prime 3 is the third expression in Proud's Prime Numbers collection, a coordinated series of numbered compositions that landed in 2025 under the direction of perfumer Arturetto Landi. Where many unisex releases chase the same aquatic-cool blueprint, this one reaches further. The Prime Numbers project appears designed to map out a series of moods rather than crowd a single lane, and Prime 3 stakes its claim on the intersection of marine crispness and white floral heat. Landi is a perfumer with range, and this composition is his argument that 'coastal' doesn't have to mean 'breezy.' On first spray, the marine accord lands with genuine salinity, a wet mineral note that reads more like rocks at low tide than pool chlorine.
What's interesting here is the balance of charge and softness. Marine notes at the top carry ozone and salt, but the cinnamon pushes warmth into the opening immediately, preventing that flat shower-gel effect so many aquatics suffer. The heart layers orange blossom, ylang-ylang, jasmine, orchid, and rose, which is a genuinely rich floral stack for something with this much green at the surface. Then sandalwood, patchouli, amber, and cedar form a base that reads less like driftwood and more like sun-baked earth with a salt crust.
The evolution
The first thirty minutes are bright, sharp, and slightly food-adjacent. Green apple and orange peel a clean citrus, while cinnamon wraps around them with a dry, woody warmth that stops short of sweet. The marine notes don't smell like generic 'aquatic.' They smell like the air right after a wave pulls back from warm stone, mineral and a little briny. By the two-hour mark, the florals take over completely. Orange blossom and jasmine come forward, but they're grounded by ylang-ylang's heavier, almost banana-like sweetness, which keeps the heart from floating off. Orchid does what orchid usually does, adding a soft, soapy-creamy undertone that bridges the florals into the base. Somewhere around hour four, the sandalwood and amber arrive with authority. Patchouli is there but quiet, giving the base texture and shadow without going earthy-grubby. The drydown is warm, woody, and slightly saline. It clings to skin through hour six and leaves a faint trace the next morning, cedar and amber and the ghost of something floral. Moderate sillage means it stays close.
Cultural impact
Prime 3 sits in a crowded lane, marine-floral-woody compositions have been a reliable indie formula for years. Where it earns attention is in execution: the cinnamon-marine opening doesn't smell like anything else doing the same trick, and the ylang-heavy heart gives it more body than most aquatics manage. It reads as a warm-weather composition but doesn't collapse in cooler months.

The Creator
Arturetto LandiLandi favors a clean, linear construction that highlights a single theme before introducing supporting layers. He often begins with a bright top—Italian bergamot, Sicilian lemon, or Calabrian orange—then anchors the heart with aromatic herbs or soft florals.
