The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Wish arrived in 2019 from Proud, and that fact alone sets up a certain expectation: a house willing to release a composition that treats cream and fruit as equals rather than accents. The bottle houses a floral-fruity composition built around a tension that should feel risky on paper but lands beautifully in practice. Gardenia and mandarin bring brightness at the entrance, two notes that introduce a clean, almost sparkling quality to what could otherwise read as dense. The center shifts quickly into something more indulgent, with peach and almond cream building a heart that feels almost edible, the kind of accord that makes the air around the wrist feel softer. Then sandalwood, cacao, and vanilla settle in for the long quiet of the drydown, each one adding a different shade of warmth.
What makes Wish distinctive is the way it handles its sweetness. The accord profile moves through white floral, sweet, fruity, vanilla, lactonic, and cacao territory, and each of these elements shows up at a different stage of the wear rather than competing for attention all at once. Wish lets almond cream and peach do structural work in the heart, with the result that the fragrance smells rich almost from the first spray.
The evolution
The opening is where the fruits do their fastest work. Gardenia arrives creamy and softly cool, mandarin adds a quick citrus lift, and red grapes bring something almost wine-like, a bruised sweetness that reads more interesting than simple. This phase passes quickly, and the florals start to gather weight as the heart emerges. The heart is where Wish earns its keep. Lily of the valley and jasmine layer in, but almond cream and peach are doing the heavy lifting. The peach gives flesh and warmth, a juiciness that softens every floral around it. The almond cream gives that marzipan-adjacent softness that makes everything feel like it's been lightly powdered, smoothing the edges of the sharper white florals and pulling them into something almost edible.
Cultural impact
Wish sits comfortably in the sweet floral territory that fragrance wearers gravitate toward when they want something generous without being heavy. Its cream-and-cacao base gives it enough substance to wear through cooler weather, while the fruity opening keeps it from reading as a winter-only scent. Within the Proud catalog, it's one of the more dessert-leaning releases, with a distinct almond-and-peach center that sets it apart from softer floral compositions. The way it handles its sweetness feels intentional, with every element working together rather than competing.
