The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Ama was launched in 2020 by Neadea. Its fragrance-specific concept is rooted in a mythic idea associated with the Goddess of Love and Prosperity, giving the composition a feminine narrative frame without defining it as simply sweet. The documented direction moves from a fresh floral opening into a warm oriental heart, where peony and jasmine meet woody notes, earthy patchouli and balsamic amyris. Sweet resins, white musk and an Oriental accord form the background, shaping Ama as a study in contrasts: floral at first, warmly sensual after the opening has passed.
The interesting part is the handoff between polished flowers and grounded woods. Jasmine and peony keep the composition luminous, while iris adds a cool, powdery edge. Then Indonesian patchouli leaf, sandalwood, amyris and cedarwood shift the mood inward, giving the floral accord a darker, more tactile character. As the arrangement develops, the bright floral facets soften against dry wood, damp earth and balsamic richness. The result never reads as simply sweet, but as a layered composition where freshness, powder, earth and resin remain in active conversation.
The evolution
Ama begins with a fresh floral impression built around bergamot, lemon, jasmine, iris and peony, with sage adding a restrained herbal coolness. As the heart settles, patchouli leaf, sandalwood, amyris and cedarwood introduce dry wood, damp earth and a slightly balsamic edge. The base then changes the temperature again, bringing vanilla, Siam benzoin, Brazilian tonka bean, white musk and amber into focus. Across the composition, citrus and herbs brighten the floral opening, while iris gives it a cool, powdery quality. Patchouli adds depth, sandalwood and cedarwood create a woody structure, and amyris brings a resinous warmth. Vanilla, benzoin, tonka bean and amber soften the drydown with sweetness, while white musk leaves the background smooth and softly luminous.
Cultural impact
Ama occupies an Oriental Floral register, combining a luminous floral opening with a woody, resinous center and a warm base. Bergamot and lemon provide brightness at the start, while jasmine and peony carry the composition forward with a polished floral character. Iris contributes a cool, powdery nuance, and sage adds a restrained herbal note. Patchouli leaf brings an earthy depth that meets sandalwood, amyris and cedarwood, giving the heart a grounded structure. In the base, vanilla, Siam benzoin, Brazilian tonka bean, white musk and amber add warmth, sweetness and a soft resinous finish.
