The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Aura Ultime came together in 2023 when Navitus Parfums brought perfumer Jorge Lee into the studio with a single brief. The result is a composition that reads as familiar in the best way, like a song you haven't heard in years but already know the words to. The fragrance opens with a bright citrus quality that feels both energizing and grounded, never leaning too sharp or too sweet. Beneath that initial impression, warm resinous notes begin to emerge, creating an inviting foundation that gives the scent weight without heaviness. As the composition develops, creamy woodiness takes center stage, softening the edges and providing a smooth transition into the deeper layers of the drydown.
What makes Aura Ultime structurally interesting is the way the heart material, the coffee and nutmeg, unfolds as the fragrance develops. These notes bring warmth and quiet spice that create a bridge between the bright citrus opening and the deep woody base. The nutmeg in particular helps smooth the transition, preventing any jarring shift between the different stages of the fragrance. The oakmoss in the base provides earthiness and grounding, anchoring the softer cashmere musk so it remains close to the skin rather than dissipating quickly.
The evolution
The opening hits with key lime and Spanish cypress, the citrus arrives bright and tart, the cypress follows with a dry, almost coniferous edge that prevents the lime from going sweet. The Brazilian copaiba balsam adds a resinous warmth underneath, barely noticeable at first but present throughout. As time passes, the heart reveals itself. New Caledonian sandalwood brings creaminess, Indonesian nutmeg adds quiet spice, and the Turkish coffee beans announce themselves with a roasted warmth that feels like walking past a café at 7 a.m. The transition is not dramatic, it feels more like a conversation shifting topic. The drydown settles into guaiac wood and amberwood, with the oakmoss and cashmere musk lingering in the background, completing the composition with earthy depth and soft warmth that keeps the entire experience grounded and cohesive.
Cultural impact
Aura Ultime launched in 2023 as part of Navitus Parfums' catalogue. The fragrance appeals to those who appreciate composition and depth in their scents. Community reception has been positive, particularly for longevity and year-round wearability, with the coffee-nutmeg heart generating interest among fragrance enthusiasts exploring the drydown.
