The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Verônica Kato created Framboesa e Pimenta Rosa for Natura in 2015, building the composition around a deceptively simple idea: what happens when bright raspberry fruit meets the quiet spice of pink pepper? The name says it all, two notes in tension, neither overwhelming the other. Natura's Brazilian roots show in the execution: fruit-forward but grounded, playful but not frivolous. It's a fragrance that takes its own advice.
The genius here is restraint. Twelve top notes could easily become a chaotic mess, but the composition keeps raspberry at the center while everything else supports rather than competes. Pink pepper doesn't blast you with spice, it hovers at the edge of perception, adding dimension without demanding attention. The heart florals (magnolia, rose, jasmine) don't arrive to take over; they arrive to extend the conversation. By the time you reach the base, the fragrance has settled into something warm and powdery that feels inevitable rather than accidental.
The evolution
The opening hits immediately, raspberry bright and tart, with pink pepper waiting in the wings. Within minutes, the supporting fruits (apple, peach, pear) arrive to soften the edges without diluting the brightness. The first hour is where this fragrance makes its statement: fruity, alive, impossible to ignore. Then the hand-off begins. The florals step forward, magnolia leading, rose following, and the fruitiness gentles into something more diffuse. By hour two, you're in the heart territory: floral, warm, intimate. The drydown is where patience pays off. Musk and vanilla arrive late, settling close to the skin with a powdery warmth that some call intimate and others call subtle. On fabric, it fades quietly. On warm skin, it lingers for hours.
Cultural impact
Framboesa e Pimenta Rosa occupies a distinct space in Brazilian fragrance culture, feminine and fruity-floral with an unapologetically warm character. The raspberry and pink pepper pairing gives it a recognizable signature that sets it apart from more straightforward florals. Created by Verônica Kato for Natura in 2015, it works across occasions: bright enough for daytime, warm enough for evening. The fragrance has built a loyal following among those seeking something approachable yet distinctive.
