The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Muse arrives from Mirada, a contemporary fragrance label that released Muse in 2023 as part of its Artistic Collections line. The composition sits squarely in the Floral Fruity family, built around the kind of sweet, edible character that reads pretty on the skin without trying too hard. There is no named perfumer attached to the release, and the brand keeps the focus on the bottle and the mood it sets rather than the biography behind it. What you get is a fragrance that seems designed to live on a vanity: ornamental, expressive, the kind of scent you catch yourself sniffing mid-afternoon when the day has softened and you want a small pleasure. The Floral Fruity architecture gives the structure: fruit up front, flowers in the middle, and a sweeter, warmer base to settle into.
The interesting move in Muse is the layering of red fruit at both ends of the pyramid. Strawberry and blackcurrant open the composition, raspberry anchors the base, and the floral heart (jasmine, rose, freesia, sweet pea) acts as the soft middle rather than the headline. This structure keeps the scent from collapsing into straight candy. The sandalwood and amber in the drydown give the sweetness a wooden floor to land on, lending the composition a quieter finish that keeps the sweetness in check rather than letting it run unchecked.
The evolution
The first fifteen minutes are loud with fruit. Blackcurrant gives a tart, almost jammy edge, strawberry adds something candied and soft, red apple brings a clean crispness, and the citrus accord lifts the whole thing like a window thrown open. It smells like a fruit bowl left in a sunny kitchen. After about thirty minutes the florals settle in. Jasmine arrives first, slightly green and creamy. Rose follows, but kept polite. Freesia and sweet pea do the quieter work of rounding the heart into something powdery and tender. The transition from fruit to flower happens without a hard line. One simply gives way to the other. In the drydown, the raspberries return in a warmer register, almost like jam reduced on a back stove. Amber and musk wrap everything in a close, skin-like warmth. Sandalwood stays underneath, giving the base a smooth finish that never pushes you away.
Cultural impact
Muse wears its sweetness openly, built for someone who wants a scent that reads pretty and edible without tipping into juvenile territory. The fruit-floral-amber structure gives it an easy, approachable shape: sweet at the top, powdery at the heart, and warmed by amber and sandalwood at the base. It feels like the kind of fragrance you reach for without thinking, the bottle that ends up on the bathroom counter because it matches the morning. The strawberry-raspberry bookending of the pyramid keeps the sweetness consistent from first spray to final trace, while the jasmine-rose heart keeps it from feeling like a one-note dessert.
