Veti Vert

The evolution

The citrus opens sharp. Four citruses arrive together, bergamot, grapefruit, lemon, petitgrain, creating a brightness that reads clean and immediate. Petitgrain's slight bitterness keeps it from becoming just pleasant. The citrus begins to recede as the heart starts to push through. Nutmeg arrives quietly, threading warmth into the green. Lavender follows, herbal and almost smoky. Neither dominates. Both redirect. Then vetiver arrives, slow and mineral, slightly smoky, taking the place the citrus has begun to vacate. The vetiver deepens rather than softens, remaining mineral and earthy, quietly persistent. The sillage stays intimate throughout, close enough to notice, never loud. There's a trace on the wrist, faint and mineral, worth chasing.
