The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Bella Victoria arrived in 2022 as part of Lomani's Private Collection. Sébastien Martin, one of the collaborating perfumers, composed it with a straightforward floral-fruity brief in mind. The juice opens with a bright burst of citrus and ripe fruit, blackcurrant and peach giving it a sweetness that reads almost edible, like biting into something sun-warmed before the tartness settles in. A violet and rose heart emerges as the top notes fade, powdery and slightly green, the violet carrying that characteristic cool shimmer that keeps the florals from tipping into something overly sweet or grandmotherly.
What makes Bella Victoria interesting isn't any single rare material. It's the way Sébastien Martin balances the bright, almost confectionary top against a base that refuses to stay sweet. Blackcurrant and peach could easily tip this into candy territory, but the violet in the heart pulls the fruit back toward something earthier and more grown. The base then locks it down with sandalwood and cedar, adding vanilla and amber for warmth without syrup. That tension between fruity brightness and woody depth is the composition's quiet achievement. It smells approachable on first contact, then reveals a structure underneath that rewards the second hour.
The evolution
The first fifteen minutes belong to blackcurrant and bergamot, sharp enough to catch attention but rounded quickly by peach and apple into something juicier. Violet enters early, not the candied, powdery kind, but greener, dewier, almost cool against the fruit. White florals and rose thread through the middle phase, light and transparent, letting the violet lead without competing. The shift into the base is gradual rather than dramatic: sandalwood and cedarwood arrive like a soft landing, vanilla sweetens the wood without overwhelming it, and the balsamic notes add a quiet resinous warmth. On skin, it settles into a personal space scent, noticeable to the wearer, detectable to those close by. The drydown holds for several hours, and the next morning on fabric, what remains is a faint vanilla-cedar trace that reads clean rather than heavy.
Cultural impact
Bella Victoria entered the Lomani catalogue in 2022 as part of the Private Collection. Its release placed it within a crowded field of fruity-floral compositions that dominate the accessible fragrance market, where blackcurrant, peach, and apple open into a heart of rose and violet, then settle into a soft base of sandalwood, musk, and amber. This is a structure that resonates with buyers who want something immediately readable, sweet without being childish, and floral without leaning into the denser, more opulent territory of the heavy orientals.
