The beginning
La Vie Est Belle L'Elixir Intense arrived in 2024 as a striking new chapter within the broader La Vie Est Belle collection. The original La Vie Est Belle, launched in 2012, built its reputation on a composition of iris, praline, and vanilla sweetness, a warm and tender kind of femininity. The Elixir takes a different approach. Perfumer Antoine Maisondieu, working alongside Christophe Raynaud, rebalanced the architecture around raspberry, liquor, and leather. Less confection, more confidence. The bottle itself carries the iconic La Vie Est Belle smile etched into the glass, a signature shape that traces directly back to the original launch, instantly recognizable to anyone familiar with the franchise. The juice inside glows a deep amber, catching light through the sculpted crystal.
The interesting choice here is liquor, not vanilla, carrying the sweetness. L'Elixir reaches for something with depth and bite, moving away from the sugary comfort of traditional gourmand bases.
