The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
306 Salvia Bianca draws from LabSolue's reverence for the Mediterranean white sage, a plant with a long history in apothecary traditions for its calming and therapeutic properties. In 2013, the Martone sisters revived their family's apothecary heritage through LabSolue, collaborating with master perfumer Olivier Cresp to translate sage's pure green spirit into olfactory form. Cresp built the composition around clary sage, vetiver, and garden sage, three aromatic herbs that share green, earthy DNA. The absence of traditional top or base notes reflects LabSolue's commitment to purity, allowing sage in its complete form to speak without ornamentation.
The three notes in 306 Salvia Bianca, clary sage, vetiver, and garden sage, share a fundamental aromatic character rooted in green, herbal qualities. Cresp chose to build the entire fragrance around this shared DNA rather than introducing contrasting elements. Clary sage brings sweetness and warmth, vetiver provides depth and smoky earthiness, and garden sage contributes crisp, clean aromatic peaks. The result is a unified, meditative experience where the notes enhance rather than compete with one another. This approach reflects LabSolue's apothecary philosophy: therapeutic, natural, and free of unnecessary complexity.
The evolution
306 Salvia Bianca begins in its heart phase, no preamble, no dramatic opening. Clary sage arrives aromatic and clean, quickly joined by vetiver's earthy depth and garden sage's crisp green clarity. The three notes coexist immediately rather than sequencing, creating a balanced aromatic composition that does not evolve in the traditional sense. Clary sage lends gentle sweetness, vetiver grounds with smoky earthiness, and garden sage keeps the profile clean and elevated. Rather than a journey from top to base, the wearer experiences a continuous meditation on sage, where all notes remain present and active. The composition simply softens over time, with vetiver lingering longest as clary sage and garden sage fade gradually, leaving an Intimate aromatic presence on the skin.
Cultural impact
Wearers describe the scent as a quiet confidence, often noting its suitability for creative professionals seeking a subtle yet distinctive aroma. It is frequently mentioned alongside other herb‑centric LabSolue releases in niche fragrance forums, reinforcing the house’s reputation for thoughtful, nature‑driven compositions that balance artistry and laboratory precision.
