Vol de Nuit Evasion

The original Vol de Nuit, designed by Raymond Guerlain, carried the heavier iris-and-green signature that defined the house's classic direction. Vol de Nuit Évasion reworks the composition into something breezier, warmer, and more immediately inviting. Where the original leaned cool and powdery, the flanker softens into a fruit-and-flower opening, a touch of peach wrapped around rose, cushioned by that same iris backbone. Think of it as a warmer interpretation of the same intent, less austere, more sunlit. The travel exclusive retains the name's poetry while shifting its mood.

The evolution

The peach and rose open with a bright, almost edible sweetness, like biting into something ripe on a warm afternoon. From the first spritz, the iris begins to stake its claim, lending that distinctive Guerlain powder that feels less like makeup and more like cool stone in shadow. Jasmine hums underneath, faint but present, threading through the fruit with a clean floral whisper. As the hours pass, the fruit has softened into something more honeyed and the iris has gone creamy rather than dry, settling into a milky, suede-like texture against the skin. The base of precious woods and vanilla arrives quietly, never overpowering, never announcing itself with the usual Guerlain opulence. In its final hours, what remains is a sheer veil of warm amber and vanilla close to the skin. It doesn't project far in its later phase, but on fabric the morning after, the vanilla is unmistakable.
