The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Friday Night takes its name from that particular threshold, the exhale between a long week and complete freedom. Perfumer Aliénor Massenet composed this fragrance around the warmth of woody notes and the ritual intimacy of incense, capturing the specific charge of Friday evening: anticipation building through smoke and spice, culminating in something warm, present, and undeniably alive.
The composition centers on a tension between cool and warm, frankincense and pink pepper open bright and electric, while leather, black tea, and cedar settle into a quieter argument at the heart. This contrast between luminous opening and grounded heart is what gives Friday Night its character. The base of sandalwood, suede, and vetiver doesn't disappear, it lingers like something worn close, intimate and present long after the room has changed.
The evolution
Friday Night opens with resinous intensity. Frankincense hits first, sharp, almost electric, like cold air through an open window. Saffron and pink pepper follow within minutes, bringing a luminous warmth that doesn't let go. Madagascan cinnamon threads underneath, a subtle sweetness building beneath the spices. The heart belongs to leather and black tea, each one asserting itself, then yielding, then returning with more insistence. Cypriol adds an earthy, slightly medicinal counterpoint. Cedarwood keeps everything grounded in dry warmth. By the drydown, Friday Night settles into its most intimate phase. Labdanum and ambrette wrap the earlier notes in musky cream. Sandalwood adds its milky smoothness. Suede lingers like something worn close to skin.
