The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Rüya arrived from Farmasi in 2018 as part of the brand's growing fragrance portfolio. The name itself is a quiet invitation. Not fantasy, not escape, but the half-conscious state where vivid images pass through without effort. The composition reflects that. Fruity brightness, white floral weight, and a cocoa base that feels more remembered than performed, like something you half-invent on the way to sleep. The scent sits comfortably in the oriental-floral category, a space where sweetness and depth share the same glass. Rüya is built to be worn, not studied. There's a softness to how the notes layer, each one offering something without competing for attention. The opening fruit doesn't shout, the florals don't overpower, and the cocoa doesn't push past the point of comfort.
What makes Rüya structurally interesting is the way the airy florals at its center interact with the grounded, edible warmth underneath. Tuberose, jasmine, and lily of the valley form a classic white-floral heart, a familiar accord that finds new context here through an unusual base. That base arrives as cocoa, an unexpected choice in a floral-oriental composition. Cocoa in fine fragrance tends to signal gourmand territory, but in Rüya it shifts the register. It adds darkness and depth without tipping into sweetness overload, giving the white florals something to play against.
The evolution
Rüya opens with a burst of red fruit and bergamot, bright and almost effervescent, the apple adding a crisp green edge that keeps the sweetness from tipping too early. That opening phase feels light, almost sparkling, a different personality from what comes after. The florals arrive in a wave. Tuberose leads, creamy and dense, with jasmine threading through for warmth and lily of the valley offering a cool, green counterpoint. The white-floral heart holds for a substantial stretch, shifting in intensity as the individual notes trade dominance. Then the base settles in. Cocoa comes forward first, darker than expected, followed by amber and tonka bean rounding the edges, and sandalwood lending a creamy woodiness. Vetiver grounds everything with a dry, earthy finish.
Cultural impact
Rüya entered Farmasi's catalog in 2018, joining a lineup that spans fruity, floral, and gourmand compositions. The name itself borrows from the Turkish word for dream, and the scent leans into that romantic, evocative territory without overexplaining itself. Within Farmasi's portfolio, Rüya occupies a distinctive space, blending the brightness of fruit with the depth of cocoa in a way that feels both familiar and unexpected. The oriental-floral category has long been a space for compositions that balance sweetness with substance, and Rüya fits within that tradition while bringing its own character.
