The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Icon Doll arrived in 2026 as DSQUARED²'s feminine counterpart to Icon Dude, a duo built around the house's signature flirtation between runway polish and rock-and-roll provocation. Icon Doll continues that script, landing squarely in the fruity-floral gourmand territory where the brand's younger audience already lives. The scent leans playful, built around cherry and blossom imagery that reads sweet rather than sharp. From the first spray, bitter orange and pear give the opening a bright, almost candied lift, while pink pepper keeps the sweetness from tipping into syrup. The heart brings in cherry and sakura blossom, layering fruit and florals in a way that feels deliberately pretty, more soft-focus than seductive.
What makes this composition interesting is how deliberately the notes are weighted toward fruit and flower rather than the woodier territory. Bitter orange and pear do the bright work upfront, with that candied citrus snap softened by the smooth sweetness of pear. Pink pepper runs alongside, adding a flushed, almost sparkling heat that keeps the opening from drifting into pure candy territory. Then the heart takes over with cherry and sakura blossom, locking in a decidedly feminine sweetness that reads soft, milky, and floral all at once.
The evolution
The first fifteen minutes are the loudest. Bitter orange lifts out fast, sharp and almost candied, with pink pepper adding a pink-cheeked heat that sits close to the skin. Pear sweetens the edges but doesn't dominate. Around the thirty-minute mark, the cherry arrives properly, joined by cherry blossom, and the whole composition tilts toward soft, milky-floral sweetness. This phase can read as a touch youthful or candy-adjacent if you're not expecting it. By the third hour, the base takes over. Tonka bean warms everything up, vetiver cuts through the sweetness with a grassy green edge, and Ambrofix smooths the whole thing into a creamy amber-skin drydown that clings to fabric and hair.
Cultural impact
Icon Doll arrives in 2026 as part of DSQUARED²'s Icon duo, speaking directly to a younger wearer who wants cherry sweetness without the syrupy excess of pure gourmand territory. The composition reads current, with the cherry blossom and tonka pairing landing firmly in conversation with the contemporary sweet-floral trend. Within the brand's lineup, it carves out a new direction, one that trades the woody, heavier signatures of earlier DSQUARED² fragrances for something lighter, pinker, and more openly playful.
