The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Mon Petit Chou arrived in 2022 as part of Blumarine's Les Eaux Exubérantes collection, taking its name from the French term of endearment for 'my little darling.' The inspiration recalls a moment of pure tenderness, something soft, intimate, and deeply personal. Perfumer Jérôme Di Marino captured that feeling through a coconut-vanilla grain accord, wrapping delicate florals in warm, comforting notes that feel like an embrace.
The coconut-vanilla grain accord is what makes Mon Petit Chou distinctive. Grain adds a cereal warmth that keeps the sweetness grounded, more cozy breakfast than tropical beach. The florals (jasmine, freesia, lily of the valley) play a supporting role here, never competing with the gourmand heart. It's intimate by design, wrapping close to the skin rather than projecting into a room. Warm without being heavy. Sweet without being cloying. That's the tension this composition holds.
The evolution
The opening is bright, bergamot and mandarin, but the coconut arrives within minutes, softening everything immediately. The grain-vanilla warmth takes over fast, creating a creamy sweetness that carries through the heart. Florals drift through softly, background players rather than lead performers. Everything stays tender and close. The drydown settles into warm vanilla and white musk wrapped around grain, with cedar providing subtle structure underneath. The result is intimate and skin-close, a warm hug rather than a room-filling presence. Lasts 6-8 hours on most skin types.
Cultural impact
Mon Petit Chou joins a tradition of Blumarine fragrances that translate the brand's romantic vision into scent. The 2022 release offers a modern, accessible take on feminine sweetness, comfortable, intimate, and designed for everyday wear rather than special occasions. Its budget-friendly positioning makes it a notable entry in accessible luxury perfumery.
