The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Aroma V arrived in 2018 from Aurora Scents, a house with a catalogue of considered compositions. The Aroma line uses a numbered system rather than named fragrances, and within that structure the men's numbers lean woody and spiced. This one, the fifth, was created by perfumers Lorenzo De Mosici and M.H Gerashi working together. The brand's own description calls it a scent for virtuous, self-confident men who want to strike the right chords between masculinity and passion. That intent shows in the structure: aromatic on top, fruity-rosy in the middle, warm and grounded underneath. No single note dominates the conversation; they negotiate. The opening reads fresh and lifted, the heart carries a soft rose-and-fruit sweetness, and the drydown pulls everything into wood and tonka.
What makes Aroma V worth a second look is the coupling of fresh aromatic elements with dried fruits and coumarin in the heart. That combination produces a warmth and softness that saves the composition from feeling too crisp or too sharp. Up top, bergamot, verbena, and lavender bring clarity, a cool green lift that feels almost cologne-like before the fruit settles in. The middle stages introduce apple and dried fruit alongside rose and geranium, which add a dusty floral counterweight to all that brightness.
The evolution
The first ten minutes are all brightness. Bergamot, verbena, and lavender lead the charge, reading almost cologne-like, light and confident, the kind of scent that works on a warm morning. Somewhere around the thirty-minute mark, the fruit shows up. Apple and dried fruits sweeten the picture, and the rose threads through the geranium, adding a floral warmth that softens the herbal edge. The oakmoss and coumarin arrive together, giving the heart a denser sweetness that feels grounded in traditional perfumery. By hour two, the top notes are memory. The base takes over: sandalwood and tonka settle into a soft, skin-close drydown that carries the composition through the rest of the day and into the evening. The fragrance behaves like a well-paced conversation, opening with volume and finishing with a hush.
Cultural impact
Aroma V belongs to a wider conversation happening around aromatic compositions for men, a category that has seen renewed interest as wearers look for structure and longevity outside the designer mainstream. It rewards someone looking for a scent with a clear arc rather than a simple top-note thrill. The composition draws on the architectural conventions of men's perfumery while updating the materials, producing something that reads as deliberate rather than derivative.
