Artist'o, an Italian house founded in 2025 by visual artist Ruth Chao von Gehren, treats each fragrance as a visual‑art statement, pairing scent with memory and feeling. For its inaugural Alora collection, the house invited independent perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer to translate a vivid brief into a wearable work of art. The brief called for a bright opening of dark chocolate and orange, a warm heart of tobacco and whiskey, and a grounding drydown built on woody notes. Feisthauer used these materials like pigments, layering dark cocoa with citrus brightness, adding smoky tobacco brushed with boozy warmth, and finishing with a clean cedar‑sandalwood base.
