Acqua di Giò Profondo Lights arrived in 2021 as a warmer-weather counterpart to the original Profondo. Alberto Morillas composed it, working from a brief that asked for the marine character and herbal density of the original to remain, but with more light allowed in. The result is a fragrance that reads lighter than the original Profondo while keeping the same structural skeleton. Profondo Lights is a limited release, positioned within the broader Acqua di Giò lineup that has become a significant chapter in men's aquatic perfumery. The opening moves through marine notes with green mandarin adding a bright citric edge, while cardamom provides a dry, slightly peppery counterpoint that keeps the citrus from tipping into sweetness.

The evolution
