The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Vivamor Parfums was built on a simple premise: that scent can capture the essence of life and love. The brand name itself reflects this foundation, guiding every creation. Dubai Reverie arrived as a tribute to the city's luminous skyline and the energy of its evenings. Bertrand Duchaufour and Bérengère Bourgarel structured the composition around a bright citrus and fruit opening that mirrors the city's architecture catching light, then warmed it with woods and vanilla that evoke the lingering heat of a desert night. The city that never dims, distilled into a wearable 100 ml bottle.
The structure is notable: a sharp, luminous top that reads almost like a cold drink on a warm terrace, resolving into a warm vanilla and vetiver base that softens everything without losing the initial brightness. That contrast, cool and warm, fresh and resinous, is what gives Dubai Reverie its distinctive arc. It doesn't simply progress from bright to dark. It holds both states simultaneously, like the city itself: glass towers reflecting afternoon sun and the amber glow of the evening skyline. The vetiver does the work of anchoring what could otherwise become a straightforward fruity scent into something with more character and staying power.
The evolution
Dubai Reverie opens bright. Spanish clementine hits first, tart, clean, immediate. Lychee follows with a tropical sweetness that softens the citrus without diluting it. The blackcurrant arrives last in the opening trio, adding a darker berry note that keeps things interesting. As the top notes evolve, the composition shifts. Ginger enters the heart with a clean, warm spice that changes the energy. Not louder. Warmer. The vanilla slides in alongside it, creamy, warm, but not overpowering. This is where the fragrance earns its name: a Dubai evening that hasn't turned fully dark yet. The base builds quietly: vetiver grounds the composition with an earthy, slightly smoky quality, like the moment the air cools after sunset. Amber adds sweetness and warmth. The drydown is intimate, close to the skin, with white musk and cedarwood that linger for hours.
Cultural impact
Dubai Reverie occupies a particular space in the brand's catalogue, blending bright citrus-fruit with warm vanilla and vetiver to create an approachable yet distinctive fragrance. The composition balances playful experimentation with refined elegance, offering an intriguing interplay between fruit brightness and deeper, earthier undertones. Its carefully constructed character makes it feel like a considered choice rather than a casual selection, appealing to those who appreciate both accessibility and nuance in their scent wardrobe.
