Why it exists.
The beginning
Santorini Wander Bubble is part of The Bubble Collection's Wander axis, a series of releases with place-themed names. It was released in 2021 and composed by Vincent Kuczinski. Santorini draws on the Greek island's signature contrast: blinding white architecture against deep blue water, a visual that the brand's official description translates into scent. The official notes point to a citrus opening built on bergamot, mandarin, and pink pepper, a white floral heart of orange blossom, jasmine, and neroli, and a base that anchors everything in warmth and coastline through amber, vetiver, seaweed, and musk. The composition reads as a Mediterranean rendering, pulling from imagery of sun, sea, and the brilliant blue of an endless sky.
What makes the structure interesting is how narrowly it's focused. This one uses seaweed in the base, letting the white florals do the heavy lifting in the middle while the marine notes stay grounded rather than airy. The pink pepper in the opening adds a clean bite that keeps the citrus from sliding into cologne territory. Cedar appears in the heart notes alongside the florals, giving the middle phase a dry, woody thread that keeps it from becoming one-note pretty. The base then settles in with amber and vetiver providing warmth and rootiness.
The evolution
The first ten minutes belong to the citrus. Bergamot and mandarin arrive almost simultaneously, bright and slightly tart, with pink pepper adding a cool prickle underneath. There's an aquatic edge from the start, but it reads more like humidity in the air than water on skin. As the composition wears, the citrus softens and orange blossom, jasmine, and neroli take over. This is the most floral phase, warm and creamy, with cedar threading through to keep it from going too pretty. Pear adds a quiet sweetness that rounds the edges. Later in the wear, the composition shifts noticeably. The florals recede, and the base of musk, amber, seaweed, and vetiver becomes the main event. The seaweed gives it a genuine oceanic mineral quality, slightly green and salty, while the amber brings warmth and the vetiver grounds everything with a clean woody finish that lingers close to the skin.

Santorini Wander Bubble arrived in 2021 as part of The Bubble Collection's releases, joining other destination-themed editions like Reykjavik and Marrakech in the brand's catalog.
