The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Cheiroso 10 is a new perfume from Sol de Janeiro, composed by Honorine Blanc and released in 2026. It swaps the jasmine petals, vanilla, salted caramel, and sandalwood DNA of the women's line for something brighter, spicier, and unmistakably Brazilian. Bergamot and cardamom crack open the top, followed by Brazilian pineapple, coconut, and roasted sesame in the heart. The base settles into amber, cedarwood, and dulce de leche for a finish that still carries sweetness, just tempered enough to wear in daylight without crossing into full gourmand territory. The composition leans into fruit and warmth up top, then grounds itself with woody, milky notes underneath, a structure that feels lighter than the gourmand mists but still rooted in the same sun-warmed Brazilian sensibility.
What makes Cheiroso 10 interesting isn't the pineapple, it's the roasted sesame. Sesame in men's fragrance usually signals smoky, nutty, almost savoury territory, a Far Eastern register more than a tropical one. Here it lands inside a coconut-and-pineapple heart, which keeps it edible rather than austere. Dulce de leche in the base is caramelised milk sugar, warm and milky, and it anchors the brighter top with something that feels like skin warmth. The cardamom adds the snap that keeps the whole thing from tipping into straight-up body spray territory.
The evolution
The first few minutes are all snap. Cardamom hits first, sharp and green, then bergamot rolls in behind it bright and almost bitter. Geranium softens the edges so the citrus doesn't read as cold. As the opening settles, the pineapple shows up and the whole thing tilts warm and golden. It's not candy-sweet, it's fruit-warm, the smell of ripe fruit in afternoon light. Coconut arrives right behind the pineapple, not coconut sunscreen, coconut flesh, milky and round. Roasted sesame threads through the heart quietly, adding a nutty savouriness that keeps the fruit from going cartoonish. As the hours pass, the composition shifts into something quieter and warmer. Amber arrives, golden and resinous, then cedarwood grounds everything with a dry, slightly pencil-shavings warmth.
Cultural impact
Cheiroso 10 is a cologne mist from Sol de Janeiro designed for men, an expansion for the brand into a category it hadn't previously occupied. It signals the brand's confidence in extending its Brazilian warmth beyond its established gourmand territory. Early wearer impressions lean toward unisex appreciation: the pineapple-coconut-cedar combination reads as approachable and youthful rather than aggressively masculine. The composition borrows from the same playbook that made the Cheirosa mists popular, warm and edible up top, grounded by something drier and woodier underneath, but reframed through a men's cologne structure.
