The beginning
Bheja sits inside Rasasi's Daala Al Banat collection, a line built around the kind of feminine florals the house has cultivated over time. Bheja is a Fruity Flor Gourmand, and the structure says it all: fruit up top, florals at the center, vanilla and amber underneath. The opening announces itself with a juicy cherry-plum accord that reads almost candied, the bright snap of cherry rounded out by the deeper, jammier weight of ripe plum underneath. As the fruit settles, the orris root steps in with its cool, powdery iris quality, softening the sweetness before it tips too far into sugar territory. The floral heart of orchid and freesia adds a clean, slightly cool lift that keeps the composition from collapsing into pure dessert.
The cherry-plum opening is the loudest move here, and it earns the space. Bheja splits the fruit into two textures, bright cherry for the snap, ripe plum for the depth, and then hands the whole thing to orris root. That orris is doing quiet work. It pulls the powdery iris side of perfumery into a composition that could have gone purely gourmand, lending a violet-tinged coolness that tempers the sugar without burying it.
The evolution
The opening is pure fruit, and it makes itself known right away. Cherry hits first with a syrupy, almost candied sweetness, the kind of brightness that feels lifted by sugar rather than by tartness. Plum follows underneath, darker and rounder, lending a stewed, jammy quality that gives the fruit accord its body. The two blur into something that smells more like a single, plush note than a pair, and the sweetness at this stage reads almost edible, like fruit reduction cooling on a spoon. As the composition settles, the powder comes forward. Orris root and orchid do that cool, slightly violet thing orris does, turning the sweetness from candy toward something closer to face powder or the inside of a cosmetic compact. The orchid reinforces this softness with its own creamy, soapy facet, and the freesia adds a clean, almost watery brightness that keeps the floral phase from feeling heavy.
