    Heritage

A house, in its own words

The story of Rasasi began in 1979 when a visionary businessman, Abdul Razzak Kalsekar, founded the company in Dubai. It started as a small family affair, with a passion for creating exceptional fragrances at its core. Initially, the house focused on concentrated perfume oils, or attars, which are central to Middle Eastern scent culture. This foundation gave them a deep understanding of precious raw materials like oud, amber, saffron, and musk. As Dubai itself transformed into a global hub, so did Rasasi. Mr. Kalsekar’s sons joined the business, bringing a fresh, modern perspective. They guided the brand's expansion into spray perfumes (EDPs) and helped establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Jebel Ali. This move allowed Rasasi to scale its production while maintaining strict quality control. Over the decades, Rasasi grew from a single shop into an international fragrance name with hundreds of stores, building a reputation on quality, consistency, and a unique East-meets-West appeal.

Rasasi's creative drive comes from a philosophy of 'accessible luxury'. The house believes that everyone deserves to experience the confidence and pleasure of a magnificent scent. They operate on the principle that quality and affordability are not mutually exclusive. This is achieved by managing their entire production process in-house, from concept and sourcing to manufacturing and distribution, which allows them to offer remarkable value. Their approach to perfumery is a dialogue between heritage and modernity. They don't just create traditional Arabic perfumes or mimic Western trends; they expertly fuse the two. You can find this in fragrances that pair the smoky depth of oud with bright citrus, or the animalic warmth of musk with clean aquatic notes. This results in a portfolio that feels both familiar and excitingly new, appealing to a broad and diverse international audience.
