The evolution

The first thirty minutes are almost aggressive in their brightness. Bergamot and lemon arrive together like a cold splash, green and sharp, the neroli curling underneath with something softer, almost soapy in a good way. It smells like stepping out of air conditioning into heat. Around the forty-minute mark, the citrus starts to lose its edge. Not gone, just less insistent. The vanilla begins to surface from underneath, bringing warmth and a milky sweetness that the opening never promised. By hour two, the balance has flipped. The neroli is still there, but it reads more floral now, less citrus, mingling with the vanilla to create something that feels like skin after sun.
