The evolution

The opening announces itself immediately, mandarin, bergamot, tropical fruits all arriving at once in a bright, sun-drenched burst. There's no subtlety in the first act. The heart develops as apricot and peach come forward, the passionfruit backing off into a rounder, softer presence. By the time the base notes have fully assembled, patchouli, caramel, chocolate, vanilla work in concert to create that signature Angel warmth. But here's the thing: the chocolate in the drydown is richer than expected. Less milk, more dark. And the caramel takes on a slightly burnt edge rather than the pure sugary note of the original.
