The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Green Island began as a memory Lorenzo Pazzaglia couldn't shake. Ischia, not just a destination, but a place where time stood still. The laughs in sunny alleys, barefoot runs on the shore, the sea singing secrets just for two. Simple moments, so full of love they became sacred. Years later, Marco, with his sincere love for that enchanted island, rekindled that spark. Together, they decided to make that bond eternal. An olfactory composition called Green Island. Close your eyes and you're carried through sun-drenched streets, the wind that smells of salt and freedom, the sound of waves breaking gently on the rocks.
The note structure mirrors the island's own character. Yuzu, pink grapefruit, and mandarin open like the first heat of a Mediterranean morning, bright, almost aggressive in their clarity. But then the gin and prickly pear arrive, introducing a herbal sophistication that grounds the citrus rather than competing with it. Red tea and peppermint keep the heart crisp and aromatic, while white flowers, lotus, myrtle, pittosporum, add a quiet elegance that arrives late and stays. The base doesn't overpower. Maritime pine, oakmoss, and ambergris create a salt-air finish that lingers close to the skin, the olfactory equivalent of warm stone after the tide retreats.
The evolution
The opening hits fast and clear, grapefruit, ginger, and juniper announce themselves with the confidence of someone who knows they're in the right place. Within minutes, the gin and aquatic notes take over, and the herbal quality softens the citrus edge without dulling it. The heart phase is where Green Island earns its complexity: white flowers emerge slowly, lotus and myrtle threading through the peppermint and red tea, creating a quiet elegance that contrasts with the opening's brightness. By the drydown, patchouli and vetiver anchor everything, with ambergris adding a salt-warm finish that stays close to the skin for hours. On fabric, the citrus returns faintly the next morning, a ghost of summer lingering.
Cultural impact
Green Island arrives at a moment when fresh fragrances are no longer dismissed as shallow. This is an Extrait de Parfum concentration, the intensity is real, not marketed. Wearers describe it as the scent of someone who walks into a room and doesn't need to announce themselves. The gin-herbal heart has earned comparisons to Louis Vuitton Imagination, though Green Island leans greener and more aquatic. It's the fragrance for those who want Mediterranean summer without the cliché.
